Cruzan Rum Presents "Hit Makers & Rum Chasers"
As the cooler climate sets on Nashville, TN, hit Country music songwriters will head off-shore to the balmy U.S. Virgin Islands for a seasonal songwriter series launching on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Reichhold Center for the Arts in St. Thomas.
Promoted by Nashville-based 343 Agency and presented by Cruzan Rum, distributed by Glazer's Premier Distributors, "Hit Makers & Rum Chasers" will regularly bring top Nashville songwriters to the popular travel destination to perform their hits and tell the stories behind the songs.
"'Hit Makers & Rum Chasers' will appeal to local islanders and tourists alike," said 343 Agency president Carolyn Miller. "Country music is already deeply embedded into the Virgin Islands culture, heard on Caribbean Country 93.5 and played on West Indies radio stations for years. But seldom is professional live Country music available in the USVI, a popular vacation spot for Americans and Canadians alike who follow the genre more than ever."
Beginning with the songwriters' accommodations provided in a private villa, leading up to the show at the serene Reichhold Center for the Arts, "Hit Makers & Rum Chasers" offers a peaceful respite from the frenetic environments often found at songwriter festivals, plus all the recreational fun one would expect to enjoy while visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands.
"As the local rum of the Virgin Islands, Cruzan Rum is excited to support this innovative entertainment concept," said Robynn Moorhead, Marketing Director for Glazer's Premier Distributors. "Live music is a huge part of our culture. Being able to provide a forum for folks to meet the writers who compose hits for some of the most popular artists in the world is fantastic. Just like Country music Cruzan Rum has diverse appeal and we are looking forward to welcoming these creative talents to St. Thomas."
The inaugural "Hit Makers & Rum Chasers" show will feature acoustic performances by hit songwriters Kent Blazy, Kendell Marvel, Danny Myrick and Phil O'Donnell.
